Physics for Industries - 1918 Words

INTRODUCTION Physics attempts to describe the fundamental nature of the universe and how it works, always striving for the simplest explanations common to the most diverse behaviour. For example, physics explains why rainbows have colours, what keeps a satellite in orbit, and what atoms and nuclei are made of. The goal of physics is to explain as many things as possible using as few laws as possible, revealing nature s underlying simplicity and beauty. Physics has been applied in many industrial fields, which include the air industry, construction industry, automobile industry, manufacturing industry and many others. All these industries apply physics in one way or another. For example a car that moves from one point to another has to†¦show more content†¦The fluid moving over the top travels a greater distance than the moving just under the bottom of the wing. Consequently, the fluid moving over the top must travel faster in order to conform to the shape of the wing and still maintain t he natural streamline. The shape of the wing also crowds the streamlines together above the wing, just as in the case of a constructing pipe. The result is that of the region immediately above the wing. Because the downward force on the top of the wing is less than the upward force on the bottom, a net upward force, or lift, arises from the airflow. (Beyond the airfoil the flowing air has a downward component of velocity. By Newton s third law, the reaction force to the net downward force exerted on the air is the lift.) For lift to occur, a flow of air is required relative to the wing. The lift occurs equally well for a wing moving through stationary air or for moving past a stationary wing. In general, as the flow of air past the wing increases, both the lift force and the drag force (the resistance to forward motion) increases. According to Breithaipt (2000), aircraft wings are designed so that pilots can change the wing shape during flight, producing greater lift for the slower speeds of takeoff and landing and producing less drag at cruising extendedShow MoreRelatedApplications of Physics For Different Industries Essays1950 Words   |  8 PagesINTRODUCTION Physics attempts to describe the fundamental nature of the universe and how it works, always striving for the simplest explanations common to the most diverse behaviour. The fact of the matter is that BBCOR certified aluminum bats have a smaller â€Å"sweet spot† region in the barrel of the bat than BESR certified bats do (Wooden). The â€Å"sweet spot† is the area where if a baseball comes in co ntact with it, then the trampoline effect will take major effect, causing the ball to be hit very hard and with much force, much more than what was put into the swing (BBCOR). The purpose of the BBCOR bats is to reduce this trampoline effect, meaning that players will have to be stronger and more skilled in order to hit the ball with the power they desire. According to an article on BBCOR versus BESR bats, â€Å"A baseball hit by a BESR (Ball-Exit Speed Ratio) certified bat could not exceed an exit speed of 97 mph.† However, this was true for a brand new bat, for when the bat was broken into, the ball exit speed could range anywhere from 100 to 115 mph! This is especially true in composite barreled BESR bats. These two pieced bats, such as DeMarini Voodoos, DeMarini Vexxums, DeMarini Vendettas, or Nike Fuses, have a top half (consisting of the barrel) that is slightly larger than the bottom half (the handle) so that it fits over the bottom half. Changes of Life free essay sample

CHANGE OF LIFE The concept of change is relative to time. It is for those who desire improvement in their life. Improvement starts in the mind. You can change your life if you can change your mind. You are the only person who can change your mind. No change will take place unless you allow it. You might need some help in finding out how to change your mind and your life, however. Whatever you keep in it will affect your whole experience of life. Your mind is such a powerful tool. You are quite right if you believe that there is nothing you can do about anything. You are probably even more right if you believe that youve got unlimited potential available to you. Unwanted emotional reactions, empowering emotions, limited choices, flexibility, stress, relaxation, physical illness, and health are some of the things you might wish to change. Imbalances, balance, mysteries, awareness, negative attitudes to positive outlook, fragmentation to wholeness, and passivity into action are some more changes that one often desires to make at some points in their lifetime. Helping you improve your life, there are many types of personal change at work. There are things you can do by yourself, and there are things you might need a mental or spiritual practitioner to help you with. Available for a person are a great many avenues and techniques. Through a journey of discovery personal change happens. You need to find out more about yourself, such as how you have created your current situation for yourself, how you do things, and how you have been limiting your options. You will find that you already have a lot of positive resources available to you. You will find out a lot more about life and about how you can be in charge of your own along the way. That you are willing to learn is the only pre-requisite for starting this journey of discovery. You can learn it if you realize that there is something there to learn. You can understand them if you realize that there are things you have not yet understood about yourself and about life. The nature of discovery is that what you will learn might be unexpected and surprising. Your path will become clear only as you are discovering it. When someone would tell you that they know all the answers and that there is only one fixed way of achieving personal development, be suspicious. What you need is your way, and the answers that are needed are your answers. No answer is fully wrong, but it might be used out of context without awareness of where it belongs. The mind contains many wrong answers. To be more precise, any emotional response can be useful in some situations, and not useful in many other situation. The process of realizing and rejecting the wrong answers one has used is called clearing. These wrong answers arent just thrown away, but they are returned to the time, place and context where they properly belong. You might have had a problem with getting angry inappropriately, for example. You might through some process of discovery realize that the anger really belonged with a specific incident 30 years ago. Now that would allow you to clear your undesirable response. Once you discover what it is really about clearing the wrong answer is very easy. It is because you havent yet discovered everything about it if it is currently not easy. Sometimes you might think that you know what is wrong with you, but it doesnt resolve it. It just means that there is more work to do. There is something more to learn. There is nothing wrong with you. This is the truth of the matter. But, you might have incorrectly identified with answers that are currently wrong for you. You can be much more yourself by straightening that out. You can put things in their right place and it brings a greatly increased emotional and mental clarity by clearing your mind. Life can become much more comfortable and simple. We all depend on a whole lot of mental programs to function in life. It is how you do things. These programs are the sub-conscious patterns that determine how we think and respond to situations. When you talk you dont have full awareness of your choice of words and the grammatical sentence construction, for example. You probably just feel like saying something, and the sentences somehow come out alright. Most programs are hidden. Sometimes you dont have an appropriate program for what you want to do. That is when we might want to change the programming of your mind. Sometimes your programs dont work in the most useful way for you. Programming is important in understanding change and self-fulfillment. The process of establishing useful ways of how to do things is called programming. That might involve the discovery of how you already do things, the construction of more powerful methods, and the re-training of your sub-conscious. Helping you to get more out of life, your mind is basically a set of tools. You can increase your abilities and your enjoyment by sharpening the tools you have and by adding more tools. In a more resourceful manner that can help you to deal with life. Permanent personal change doesnt have much to do with conscious intellectualizing. You need to feel and respond different, not just talk differently to be different. It is very important to engage your sub-conscious mind in any desired change that you wish to make, therefore. Self-fulfillment and personal change can be pursued systematically by engaging in various processes. A process is a distinct activity that addresses an existing situation and gradually changes it into something else. We will work on an issue in a systematic manner is what it basically means. For working on areas where change is desired, processing is the ongoing activity. Many different techniques might be applied. Typically a technique will be chosen that fits the situation at hand and it will be used until you get a noticable result from it. It is the skilled resolution of issues. Processing is not just random attempts to figure something out. The practitioner will ask you, the client, questions and will ask you to do specific things in a typical processing session. The questions will be intended to help you discover more about yourself. The directions will be intended to help you to develop your personal resources and to experience things differently. For change and self-fullfillment to happen, processing is simply an educational vehicle to help you change your own way of being for the better. It takes your cooperation to do. With the help of a skilled practitioner you can make magical changes in your life. Processing is not doing something to you. Coming from a number of different sources and disciplines are the different techniques of discovery, clearing and programming that we do. We can call it all Semantic Processing as an overall heading. Semantics is the study of meaning, the underlying mental and spiritual structures that life is based on. Supplying you with a mind that does what you want it to do, Semantic Processing is therefore a fancy way of saying that we work on understanding your life better. The concept of change is not just important in personality but also in organizations. Self esteem can be influenced by desired change, where the desire is achieved. Personal control can also develop from choices and responsibilty for desired change. As we have discussed earlier, stress and handling stress is linked with dealing with change. There is a need to change or reduce stress created by desired change. In organizations, team nvolvement is the source of support or barriers to desired change. Change can help or hinder motivation. Motivational influences begin or maintain desired change. For a smoker, the change in smoking habit, or trying to quit smoking, can have a strong impact on their personality, particularly on how the person deals with stress. This is also true for someone who over-works, works full-time, works at more than two jobs or is studying and working as well. For a person who doesn’t get enough sleep, doesn’t eat well, and has sick relatives, the need for change is often important in achieving self-fulfillment. It can refresh the person if the change is good. However, what one must keep in mind is that sometimes some people are hesitant towards change, and can become sensitive towards it. You arent just a body or a mind. You are much more. By working on yourself you can gradually discover your own true nature and unleash the tremendous potentials within you. By clearing away the barriers of the mind you can become much more of what you really are. Underneath the appearances there isnt truly anything wrong with you. You will find that you already have the resources you need. You might have forgotten how to use them, so it might take some re-discovery to become the complete and whole person you really are. Any change that you can imagine is possible. The changes you cant imagine will also become possible, as long as you are willing to develop and learn. Life can be wondrous and fascinating. You can expand your awareness, your understanding, and your abilities. Limitation can change into freedom, weakness can change into power, drudgery can turn into joy. All you need to do to start is to realize that it is possible.

Effective Managemen Practices of Bow Valley College †Free Samples

Question: Discuss about the Effective Managemen Practices of BVC. Answer: Introduction In the modern era, effective management practices play a very important role in success and growth of an organization(Wheelen Hunger, 2017). Furthermore, appropriatemanagement supports in carrying out the smooth flow of all operations and attain the desired objectives(Chmiel, Fraccaroli, Sverke, 2017). The present research report is based on Bow Valley College (BVC) which was founded in the year 1965 in Canada. The study highlights vision and mission of the selected college. Apart from this, a purposed organization structure for BVC is also mentioned in the present research report. Vision and mission of BVC The vision of Bow Valley College is to become the leading innovative college in the world. Furthermore, its vision emphasizes on delivering quality education which can help students to learn better living and live a better life in future (Comprehensive Institutional Plan - Bow Valley College, 2012). On the other side of this, the mission of BVC is to contribute to overall development of community and economy through its innovative adult education programs. Resources which BVC have to support its vision and mission In the present scenario, every company requires adequate human, technological and financial resources to achieve its goals and objectives(Rees Smith, 2017). It can be stated that BVC has adequate resources which support the organization to attain its mission and vision statement. Here, the organization is available with talented, qualified and skilled faculty or teaching staff who impart quality and innovative education to all students. On the other side of this, the organization is also possessing adequate technological resources to deliver education and other related services. Wireless internet, classroom computers, data projects are some technological tools which the college is using. All the mentioned above resources support BVC in delivering quality education and accomplish its mission and vision. BVC competitive advantage Nowadays the competition among universities and colleges in the country has become highly intense, and it is not easy for colleges to sustain in the long run (Naranjo-Valencia, Jimnez-Jimnez, Sanz-Valle, 2016). Furthermore, colleges and universities also face issues linked with attracting and enrolling the desired number of students in a particular academic year (Bolman Deal, 2017). However, it can be argued that there are certain strategies which help the college to gain the competitive advantage over other organization in the marketplace. For example, BVC focuses on delivering niche education programs, and it helps the college to get an advantage over others. Experience and supportive teaching staff is another factor which provides the competitive advantage to BVC. Apart from this, BVCs core values such as respect for diversity, learner centered approach, integrity; concern for people also contributes a lot in getting an advantage over other universities. Target student for BVC The college has mainly targeted adults who belong to different economic, cultural, social, geographical background. The programs and teaching strategies are also developed in such a way that the target students do not have any sort of inconvenience while learning. Apart from this, international learners, disabled learners, employed, underemployed personnels are also targeted by BVC. Purposed Organizational structure Organizational structure can be defined as the term which is used to define the allocation of task, power, and authority within a business enterprise. Furthermore, horizontal and vertical are the two common types of structures which are used in colleges and universities (Gelfand, Aycan, Erez, Leung, 2017). For a college like BVC, the horizontal organizational structure is more suitable and effective. Mentioned below is the proposed organizational structure for BVC Rationale behind proposed structure The main reason behind proposing horizontal organization is that it uses an employee centered approach to leadership. It means the use of mentioned above structure will support BVC in encouraging views and opinions of workers at the time of drafting policies and strategies. It can be stated that considering the view of staff members will also result in developing the sense of satisfaction among teachers and will contribute to overall academic success (Holmlund, Kowalkowski, Biggemann, 2016). On the other side of this, the horizontal organizational structure is more suitable for BVC because it will promote team work within the college and thus, will help in an accomplishment of all objectives. The college will be able to develop a high level of the corporation within all its departments by making use of the horizontal organizational structure. Other than this, the suggested structure will also enhance the overall motivational level and productivity of teaching staff by providing a hi gh degree of job satisfaction among them. Conclusion From the above carried out research report, it can be concluded that factors such as skilled teaching staff, values and focus on niche teaching programs have resulted in providing the competitive advantage to BVC. Furthermore, it can also be inferred that horizontal organizational structure is more suitable for college such as BVC as it offers the high degree of satisfaction to staff members and thus, will contribute to long term growth of the college.
